Pumpkin-Nut Bread

Ingredients
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ⅓ cup shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 cup flour
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts
Steps
  1. Cream together brown sugar and shortening till light and fluffy.
  2. Add eggs one at a time, beating well.
  3. Stir in pumpkin & milk.
  4. Add mixed dry ingredients and beat 1 minute.
  5. Add nuts.
  6. Put in loaf pan. (cover inside of pan with butter and dust with flour (alternatively, use a baking spray with flour in it, such as Pam with Flour or Baker's Joy).
  7. 350° for 55 to 60 minutes.
