  • 6 ounces ham (deli sliced or cubed)
  • 8 ounces cheddar cheese (or gruyere or swiss), sliced or shredded
  • 1 ½ cups milk (or half and half or cream)
  • 6 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 2 teaspoons thyme, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried thyme)
  • 1 tablespoon dijon mustard (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon grainy mustard (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • ⅛ teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 pinch cayenne (optional)
  • ¼ cup honey mustard sauce (optional)
