  • 2 tsp salt, or to taste
  • ¼ cup lemon juice

  • 2 ½ cups rice
  • 4 cups water

  • ¾ tsp turmeric
  • 3 to 4 whole cloves
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 3 bay leaves
