German Style Kale (Grünkohl)
Ingredients
  • 1.2 kg (2.6 lb) of kale
  • 2 tablespoons of duck fat OR lard OR sunflower oil
  • 160 g of of sliced bacon, applewood smoked and uncured
  • 300 g (10.58 oz) of yellow onions
  • 4 tablespoons of oatmeal, rolled
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper, coarse
  • 1 teaspoon of nutmeg
  • 2 teaspoons of mustard
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 500 ml (1.05 pt) of water
  • 1 cube of Knorr vegetable bouillon OR beef bouillon
  • salt
  • 2 Andouille sausages, smoked
  • 1 Kielbasa (340 g - 12 oz), smoked
  • 3 slices of ham (450 g), uncured and smoked
