Pouding Chomeur
French Canadian 'Poor Man's Pudding
Ingredients
  • Maple Syrup
  • Double Cream
  • Butter
  • Sugar
  • Vanilla Extra
  • 2 Eggs
  • Baking Powder
  • Flour
  • Salt
Steps
  1. Mix Maple Syrup & Cream & bring to the boil & turn off heat
  2. Cream butter & sugar
  3. Add: vanilla extra then 1st egg & incorporate & then 2nd egg & mix
  4. Add Baking Powder & Salt & Flour & Mix to thick batter
  5. Transfer mix to buttered deep pie dish & smooth out to edges
  6. Ladle over dough the maple syrup cream
  7. Bake 425°F / 218°C for 30 minutes or until batter has RISEN through syrup cream golden brown & when poked no raw cake batter
