Ingredients
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 Lbs ANY Ground Meat
  • 1 16-ounce box penne pasta (uncooked)
  • 1 24-ounce jar marinara sauce
  • 1 8-ounce can tomato sauce (no salt added)
  • 3 ½ cups water
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  •  
  • 1 Bag of Frozen/Chopped Spinach (optional)
Steps
  1. Select SAUTÉ mode, when hot add olive oil evenly over bottom of Instant Pot. Brown the ground meat until there is no pink showing.
  2. Deglaze the bottom of the pot with a little of the water - scrape any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
  3. Add pasta over browned meat, and add the remaining water. Then LAYER (DO NOT STIR) the remaining ingredients on top of the pasta.
  4. Cover with lid, and turn vent to Sealing position.
  5. Hit PRESSURE COOK for 4 minutes. After the cook time, do a slow-controlled release of pressure to reduce foaming/splattering.
  6. When pin drops, carefully open lid and stir pasta and sauce together. Top with Parmesan cheese, if using, and serve.
