Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1 Lbs ANY Ground Meat
- 1 16-ounce box penne pasta (uncooked)
- 1 24-ounce jar marinara sauce
- 1 8-ounce can tomato sauce (no salt added)
- 3 ½ cups water
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 Bag of Frozen/Chopped Spinach (optional)
Steps
- Select SAUTÉ mode, when hot add olive oil evenly over bottom of Instant Pot. Brown the ground meat until there is no pink showing.
- Deglaze the bottom of the pot with a little of the water - scrape any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
- Add pasta over browned meat, and add the remaining water. Then LAYER (DO NOT STIR) the remaining ingredients on top of the pasta.
- Cover with lid, and turn vent to Sealing position.
- Hit PRESSURE COOK for 4 minutes. After the cook time, do a slow-controlled release of pressure to reduce foaming/splattering.
- When pin drops, carefully open lid and stir pasta and sauce together. Top with Parmesan cheese, if using, and serve.
