Creamy Nashville Hot Sauce for chicken

Servings: 8

Servings: 8
Ingredients
  • ½ cup unsalted butter , clarified prefered
  • 1 tablespoons cayenne pepper , more or less to taste
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons coarse kosher salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • ¼ cup heavy cream, more or less as desired
  • Cooked chicken breast or shredded chicken
  • Kaiser bun
Steps
  1. Over low heat, combine the butter, cayenne pepper, brown sugar, salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika and honey in a saucepan. Stir over low heat until combined. The sauce will separate until after you add cream.
  2. Add heavy cream about 1 to 2 tablespoons at a time. If the color hasn't lightened up or the sauce is still separating, add a little more.
  3. (Can spoon over chicken breast or you can add shredded chicken to the sauce and coat well. )
  4. Add chicken to a bun. Spoon sauce over the chicken (unless you coated the shredded chicken, then just add that to the bin). Add cheese, sliced dill pickles, and drizzle some ranch over it. Or dress it how you want. Enjoy!
Notes
  • Do not cook sauce on high heat or the sugar will harden.
