Sweet and Tangy Flank Steak
sweet and tangy!

Servings: 6

Servings: 6
Ingredients
  • ⅓ c soy sauce
  • ⅓ c light-brown sugar
  • ¼ c sliced scallions/onions
  • 1 Tb sesame oil
  • 1 Tb sesame seeds
  • 2 tsp chopped garlic
  • 1 tsp minced fresh ginger
  • 1 flank steak (about 2 lbs)
Steps
  1. Stir all ingredients except steak together in a bowl.
  2. Fold flank steak into thirds. Place in a large Ziploc. Pour mixture into the bag and seal. Let meat marinate in fridge for 2 to 4 hours.
  3. (If you like, place into a second bag, label, and freeze for up to 2 months. Thaw bag in refrigerator for 2 days before cooking.)
  4. Heat grill or broiler. Remove steak from bag, and place marinade in small saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes.
  5. Grill or broil steak for 5 minutes per side or until meat registers 135°. Allow meat to rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  6. To serve, thinly slice meat against the grain and serve with marinade.
Notes
  • Marinade takes a while, so plan ahead.
