**My Easy and Quick Instant Golden Milk! #1###
loading...
Super quick with premade ingredients and nut flours
Ingredients
- 3½ cup water (or milk of choice)....2 cups hot water then 1½ cups ice water
- 1 tablespoon almond butter, optional for creaminess**
- 1½ tablespoons cashew flour
- 1½ tablespoons almond flour
- 1 scoop hemp protein (optional)+++
- 1 teaspoon maca powder (optional)+++
- 2½ tablespoon Instant Golden Milk Powder mix+
- ###for thick creamer style milk, optional add any/all items between ###
- 1 tbsp coconut milk powder
- subheading: to keep from separating:
- ½ tsp tapioca starch
- 1 tsp refined coconut oil
- ⅓ tsp sunflower lecithin
- ⅛ tsp xanthan gum####
- ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, or to taste
- 1 teaspoon date syrup or maple syrup; ½ teaspoon monk fruit sugar or raw honey; a good pinch organic stevia powder, or sweetener of choice
- 1½ tablespoon quick oats
- 2½ to 3 cups nondairy milk, as needed for consistency after cooking
Steps
- Combine the hot water, almond butter, cashew and almond flour, hemp protein (optional), maca powder (optional), Instant golden milk powder, black pepper, and sweetener of your choice into a blender, then blend until smooth. Let sit for 5 minutes. (Allows the flours to steep)
- Add the ice water and oats to the blender and blend for 30 to 40 seconds.
- Strain into a container (microwave safe or pan for stovetop cooking) to remove spent oats and other particles. Toss or save the pulp for something else (baking, putting into your oatmeal, etc).
- Gently heat the mixture until thickened to your liking. (stovetop or microwave)++
- Add the rest of the nondairy milk.
- Taste and adjust the seasonings.
- Serve right away or store in the fridge in a closed container until ready to serve.
- ****You can gently heat this drink on the stove (or microwave) for a slightly thicker, warm beverage. Watch when heating, it will turn to porridge if you don't keep an eye on it!!!
Notes
- + You can make a pre-made mix with all the spice ingredients added to have on hand. Use 2 to 3 tbsp for the recipe! It's very strong if you use 3 tbsps. Use 'My Bulk Golden Milk Mix' recipe here on Copy Me That.
- ++ Watch carefully!!! Once it starts to thicken, everything starts moving quickly and will boil over! Major mess!
- ** almond butter is optional but does add a richness. You can use other kinds of butter if you want to try other tastes. i.e. cashew, sun butter, pumpkin seed, tahini, etc or have nut allergies
- *** Make a green tea chai latte, by using this as your creamer
- **** If your golden milk chai gets too thick, just add some non-dairy milk or water to thin.
- *****Want a quicker 'travel with you' version?:
- Pack a jar of turmeric and a jar of pumpkin pie spice. Add a slightly smaller amount of pie spice than turmeric to nondairy milk. Stir in or throw into that handy dandy nutribullet!!! (½ to 1 tsp each to 12 oz non-dairy milk or ½ tsp of each to a cup of tea*. I've even added to coffee*.) * no need to use a blender.
- +++ I add 1 Tbsp Maca powder and 1 Tbsp Hemp Powder to my mix when making.
- ###for thick creamer style milk
- add coconut milk powder approximately 1 Tbsp
- to keep from separating:
- ½ tsp tapioca starch
- 1 tsp refined coconut oil
- ⅓ tsp sunflower lecithin
- ⅛ tsp xanthan gum
