Hawaiian Chantilly Cake
Ingredients

  • 1 c. cake flour (lightly spooned into measuring cup, then leveled off)
  • ¾ tsp. baking powder
  • ¾ tsp. baking soda
  • ¼ tsp. sea salt
  • subheading: Chantilly Frosting:
  • 1-⅔ c. salted butter
  • 1-½ c. evaporated milk
  • 1-½ c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 2 T. cornstarch
  • subheading: Simple Syrup:
  • ¼ c. water
  • 2 T. sugar
  • subheading: Topping:
  • 1 c. finely chopped macadamia nuts (salted taste better), lightly toasted
