I found this a heavy dough. Not sure what I've done wrong.
Ingredients
- 2¼ c. white bread flour, plus a little extra for flouring the work surface
- 2¼ t. fast-action yeast
- 1 t. salt
- 1 T. + 1 t. superfine (baker’s) sugar
- 1 T. softened butter, cut into small pieces
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- ¾ c. whole milk
- 1½ T. cornmeal, plus a little extra for dusting the work surface
