- 1 green bell pepper - cored, seeded, and diced

- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 2 bay leaves
- 3 cloves garlic - minced (about 1 tablespoon)
- 4 cups water and/or veggie stock
