  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 ½ tbsp maple syrup or other liquid sweetener
  • ½ tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp roasted sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp corn starch
  • 1 tbsp Shaoxing wine or other rice wine, optional
  • Pinch white pepper

  • Chopped scallions for topping
  • Steamed rice
