  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • 2 to 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese, divided
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • salt and fresh ground pepper, to taste
  • pinch of nutmeg (optional)
