Seared Pork with Mushroom Pan Sauce
Ingredients
  • Meijer had pork butt on sale for $.99/lb -so there’s going to be a lot of pork meals in my future This is a simple creamy pan sauce I’ve shared before. My hubs sliced off a few steaks (for later) and then chunked up the rest. I fried off off the chunks (about 5lbs) in batches, seasoning with Redmond Organic Season Salt. After removing the meat, I added a few tablespoons of butter and a bag of frozen mushrooms (Great Value (Walmart brand)) that I’d defrosted and drained. I fried the mushrooms a smidge and then added about a half cup of heavy cream, scraping up bits from the bottom of the pan. I let it simmer and reduce a bit before adding a few splashes of fish sauce (I like Red Boat). This is a very rich sauce with a nice umami punch. Who else loves creamy gravy or just creamy food in general ‍♀️
