  • 2 tablespoons tamari or soy sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt-free seasoning blend like Mrs. Dash
  • 1 cup vital wheat gluten
  • 1 cup Italian breadcrumbs can be regular or panko
  • 3 cups marinara sauce**
  • 2 cups vegan mozzarella cheese (recipe below)
  • subheading: To make homemade vegan mozzarella:
  • 1 ¼ cup water
  • ½ cup soaked cashews ( try the quick soak method!)
  • ¼ cup tapioca starch/flour
  • 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice (or apple cider vinegar)
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
