Sweet Potato/ Kabocha Tempura
Ingredients
  • 2 cups vegetable oil
  • 1 sweet potato cut into ¼ inch slices
  • 1 cup rice flour
  • ¼ cup all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup ice cold carbonated water
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • subheading: Sweet Potato Tempura Sauce:
  • 3 tablespoons tamari or soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 3 tablespoons mirin or rice wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • 2 teaspoons Sriracha sauce optional
