Beefy Asparagus

Ingredients
  • ¾ lb boneless beef top round steak
  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp water
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • ⅓ cup water
  • 1 ½ tsp corn starch
  • 6 green onions, cut into 1” pieces
  • 1 Tbsp oil
  • Nonstick vegetable spray coating
Steps
  1. Partially freeze beef, cut on the bias into thin bite-size strips
  2. In a small bowl stir together soy sauce, water, sugar, garlic, red pepper, and pepper.   Add beef, toss to coat, cover. Let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes stirring occasionally.
  3. Stir together water and soy sauce.
  4. Spray a wok or a large skillet with nonstick coating. Stir fry onions for 1 ½ minutes. Add asparagus stir fry for 1 ½ minutes or until tender crisp, remove from wok.
  5. Add oil to wok and heat to high temperature, add beef mixture. Stir fry 2 to 3 minutes till done. Push from center. Stir in cornstarch mixture at center of wok. Cook and stir until bubbly, cook one minute more.
  6. Add onion and asparagus, stir all to coat. Cook and stir for 1 minute more.
  7. Serve over rice.
