Skillet-Roasted Chicken and Potatoes

  • 2½ cups buttermilk, shaken

  • 1½ teaspoons fresh thyme leaves
  • ¹⁄₈ teaspoon sweet Hungarian paprika
  • 1 pound medium Yukon Gold potatoes, unpeeled, sliced ¼ inch thick
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic (3 cloves)
  • 2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives
