Instant Ramen in the Microwave
Instant ramen is a microwave must, so naturally we put our own Anyday spin on it. Transform a package of instant noodles by adding in different proteins, veggies, sauces, garnishes (and even a slice of melted American cheese!).

Ingredients
  • subheading: For the ramen:
  • 2 cups (480ml) water (or chicken or vegetable stock)
  • seasoning packet
  • 1 pack of instant ramen (100g of noodles)
  • subheading: Option #1 add-ins:
  • 1 slice American cheese, for topping
  • ¼ cup (40g) cooked pork
  • 1 scallion, thinly sliced, for garnishing
  • 1 soft boiled egg, for topping
  • subheading: Option #2 add-ins:
  • ½ teaspoon lemongrass, finely chopped
  • 1 bok choy, thinly sliced
  • ½ cup (30g) mushrooms, thinly sliced
  • ¼ cup (30g) Chinese sausage
  • chili crisp, to taste
  • subheading: Option #3 add-ins:
  • ½ teaspoon ginger, grated
  • ½ cup (10g) spinach
  • ½ cup (40g) cooked chicken, diced
  • ½ teaspoon sesame oil
  • subheading: Option #4 add-ins:
  • ½ cup (125g) silken tofu, diced
  • ½ teaspoon sambal oelek
  • ½ teaspoon ginger, grated
  • ½ scallion, thinly sliced, for garnishing
  • subheading: Option #5 add-ins:
  • ½ tablespoon Hondashi powder
  • 4 shrimp, peeled, cleaned and cut into small pieces
  • 1 teaspoon furikake, for garnishing
