Spoon Bread
Ingredients
  • 2 c milk
  • 1 c cornmeal
  • 1 c milk
  • 2 T butter
  • 1 t salt
  • 1 t baking powder
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 3 stiff beaten egg whites
  • ½ grated parm, optional
Steps
  1. Stir 2 c milk into cornmeal in saucepan until thick and bubbly.
  2. Add 1 c milk, butter, salt, baking powder.
  3. Stir 1 c hot mixture into egg yolks then add back into saucepan.
  4. Fold in egg whites.
  5. Bake 325 for 50 mins or until knife comes out clean.
Notes
  • If adding parm, do so when adding butter and 1 c milk.
