Ingredients
  • 1⅓ cups sugar (split in one cup, and ⅓ cup)
  • ¾ cup PLUS 3 tablespoons flour, gluten-free or regular
  • ⅔ cup cocoa, rich, dark Dutch-process if you can get it
  • 1¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ⅔ c oil
  • ½ c water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 4 eggs room temperature (separated)
  • ½ gallon ice cream
  • 9 egg whites, room temperature
  • 2 cups sugar
