Ingredients
  • 1 ½ pounds shallots, unpeeled and root ends trimmed

  • 1 (8-oz.) container mascarpone cheese
  • ⅓ cup thinly sliced fresh chives
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons whole grain Dijon mustard
  • ¾ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • Dash of hot sauce
  • Garnishes: cooked and crumbled bacon, lemon zest, chopped fresh chives
