Chicken Shawarma (Oven-Roasted Instant Pot Instructions)
Ingredients
  • 3 pounds boneless and skinless chicken thighs
  • 1½ tbsp minced garlic
  • 5 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • ¼ cup olive oil (for Instant Pot users only, use ½ cup of olive oil)
  • Shawarma Spice Seasoning Mix:
  • 1½ tbsp ground cumin
  • 1½ tbsp ground coriander
  • 1 tbsp ground paprika (regular or smoked)
  • 1½ tsp ground turmeric
  • 1½ tsp ground allspice (or use ground cardamom)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper (use more according to your liking)
  • 2 tsp kosher salt (or use less of it if you are salt-sensitive)
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • Optional:
  • 1-2 large red onion
  • Tzatziki Sauce:
  • ½ cup Greek whole milk yogurt
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 small cucumber (seeded, finely grated and drained)
  • ½ tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp freshly chopped dill (or use a small pinch of dried dill)
  • salt (to taste)
  • black pepper (to taste)
  • Optional: ½ tbsp extra virgin olive oil
