  • ¼ cup red wine
  • 2 cloves garlic peeled
  • 2 sprigs fresh thyme
  • ¼ cup barley
  • 4 beef ribs cut from a cooked Prime Rib roast
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 large carrots peeled and chopped
  • ½ large Vidalia onion chopped
  • 1 stalk of celery chopped
  • 16 oz bag of frozen mixed vegetables
  • 4 oz uncooked Pappardelle noodles or 1 large Russet potato peeled and cubed
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
