Salisbury Steak Recipe Easy Mushroom Gravy

  • 2 teaspoons ( 10 ml) Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon ( 5 ml) onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon ( 2.5 ml) garlic salt
  • ½ teaspoon ( 2.5 ml) mustard powder
  • ¼ teaspoon ( 1.25 ml) kosher salt
  • lots fresh ground black pepper , or to taste
  • 1 Tablespoon ( 15 ml) cooking oil , for searing beef patties
  • subheading: FOR THE MUSHROOM GRAVY:
  • 3 tablespoons ( 30 g) butter
  • 8 ounces ( 227 g) mushrooms , sliced
  • 1 ( 1 ) medium onion , sliced
  • 2 cloves ( 2 cloves) garlic , minced
  • ¼ to ½ cup ( 30 to 60 g) flour , depending on how thick you like your gravy
  • 3 cups  ( 720 ml) broth (beef, chicken or vegetable)
  • kosher salt or sea salt , or to taste
  • black pepper to taste
