Sara's cowboy candy
Ingredients
  • 3 lbs sliced jalapeños
  • 2 cups apple cider vinegar
  • 6 cups sugar
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • ½ tsp celery seed
  • 3 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Cayenne pepper
Steps
  1. Combine vinegar sugar and spices in a stock pot stir and bring to a boil let simmer 5 minutes add the jalapeños slices and let simmer for 4 minutes remove the jalapeños slices with a slotted spoon and set aside bring the syrup back to a boil and boiled hard for 6 minutes ladle jalapeños slices into jars up to a ¼ inch to the top fill the jar with syrup leaving ¼ of an inch headspace remove bubbles wipe the rims. place a new lid and ring on jar process in water bath canner for 15 minutes
