Slow Cooker Grillades
Ingredients
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons Creole seasoning*, divided
  • 2 pounds chuck steak, cut against the grain into ½-inch-thick slices
  • 3 tablespoons canola oil, divided
  • 1½ cups chopped yellow onion (about 1 large onion)
  • ¾ cup chopped carrot (about 2 medium carrots)
  • ½ cup chopped celery (about 2 stalks)
  • ½ cup chopped green bell pepper (about 1 medium bell pepper)
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 (14.5-ounce) can fire-roasted diced tomatoes
  • 1 (10.5-ounce) can beef consommé
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 dried bay leaves
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning

  • Garnish: chopped fresh parsley, ground black pepper
