Weeknight Korean Fire Chicken Gnocchi

  • 1 tbsp gochugaru*
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil, plus 1 tbsp extra
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 500g (1 lb) store-bought gnocchi
  • 400g (about 14 oz) coarsely grated mozzarella cheese
  • 2 spring onions (scallions), finely sliced
