Adas Polo (Rice and Lentils Recipe)
Ingredients
  • 2 cups Basmati rice
  • 1 pinch saffron threads (to make ½ teaspoon ground saffron)
  • 1 cup green lentils or brown lentils
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 yellow onions, finely sliced
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 2 tablespoons kosher salt
  • 2 tablespoons neutral oil (I use vegetable oil)
  • 8 Medjool dates, pitted and quartered
