2 cups mirepoix diced (or one medium onion, two medium carrots, and two medium celery stalks)

1.5 cups lentils dried

15 oz can tomato sauce

15 oz can diced tomatoes with all juices

2 cups cabbage chopped

6 cups broth or stock I use beef broth

2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 sprig fresh thyme

2 bay leaves

t tablespoon soy sauce I prefer low sodium

8 oz chopped kale

salt and pepper to taste
