Ingredients
  • ½ cup unsalted butter room temperature (113g or 4oz)
  • zest from 1 lemon (no white pith!)
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar (170g)
  • 1 large egg room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour, plus 2 tablespoons (252g plus 15g)
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 cups fresh ripe blueberries picked over, rinsed and dried (12oz)
  • ½ cup buttermilk (4oz)
  • 1 teaspoon turbinado sugar for sprinkling
