Please Avoid Deep Frying. Shallow Fry with Ghee instead. Don't use a Non-Stick Pan though, bake on a tray in a small oven. It's Much Healthier and Delicious. You can try the Baking alternative - it is also Healthier!

  • 3 medium zucchini
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 ½ teaspoon salt (8 g)
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons ground flax seeds (14 g)
  • zest of 1 small lemon (reserve the rest of the lemon for the avocado crema)
  • 1 ½ cups garbanzo bean (chickpea) flour (138 g)
  • 1 ½ teaspoon baking powder (6 g)
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • olive or vegetable oil, for pan (if frying)
  • subheading: For the Avocado Crema:
  • 1 medium avocado
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (45 ml)
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha or other hot sauce
  • 2 teaspoons white wine vinegar (10 ml)
  • 5 tablespoons water (75 ml)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (30 ml) (optional)
  • salt (to taste)
