Split Pea "Meatballs" with Pistachio Yogurt

  • ½ cup yellow split peas
  • 2 cups water
  • ¼ cup basmati rice
  • ¾ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • ¾ teaspoon sumac
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Juice of 2 limes
  • ½ cup roughly chopped fresh parsley leaves, plus extra for garnish
  • ½ cup roughly chopped fresh cilantro leaves, plus extra for garnish
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • Pomegranate molasses, for garnish
