German Slow Cooker Pot Roast (Sauerbraten)
Ingredients

  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 (3- to-4 pound) beef chuck roast or bottom round roast

  • 1 ½ teaspoons kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
