IP Pasta - "Instant" Pasta and Meatballs
Last second meal using spiral pasta and frozen meatballs.  It takes about 10 minutes to come up to pressure and 4 more to cook, so ready to eat in about 20 minutes total, with no babysitting pasta on the stove!
Ingredients
  • 1 box spiral pasta (16 oz)
  • 4 cups water
  • 4 to 5 meatballs per person
  • 1 jar or can red pasta sauce
  • Parmesan cheese if desired
Steps
  1. Place liner pot into Instant Pot
  2. Pour box of pasta into liner
  3. Stir in 4 cups water
  4. Place meatballs on top
  5. Close lP lid
  6. Select "manual" and use the - button to reduce time to 4 minutes
  7. When cooking time is completed, use QPR to reduce pressure
  8. Remove meatballs
  9. Stir in pasta sauce
  10. Serve sauced pasta with meatballs and parmesan cheese on top
Notes
  • I do not use traditional spaghetti noodles since they tend to clump at the bottom, even if you stir in some oil.  I use a spiral or the thicker Cellentani (Cavatappi, amori, spirali, tortiglioni, or fusilli rigati).
  • I do not add the pasta sauce until after cooking the pasta since thicker sauces have trouble coming to temperature in the IP.
