Microwave Cake
Ingredients
  • Maida 1.5 cups
  • Baking powder ½ tsp
  • Baking soda ¼ tsp
  • Sugar 1cup
  • Milk 1 cup
  • Oil 3Tbsp
  • Lemon juice 1Tbsp
Steps
  1. Grease a microwave safe dish with oil/butter and line with butter paper (Never ever use aluminium foil in Microwave).
  2. 3. Mix milk and sugar until sugar is completely dissolved.
  3. 4. Sift together maida, cocoa powder, baking powder and baking soda.
  4. 5. Gently fold in dry ingredients in the milk and sugar mixture and mix well to ensure a lump free batter.
  5. 6. Add vanilla extract and oil and again mix well but gently.
  6. 7. Finally add 1 tbsp lemon juice and give the mix a quick stir.
  7. 8. Pour batter in microwave safe dish and cook on full power 7minutes (mine’s 900w). Use the same normal mode to make the cake that you use to reheat food.
  8. 9. Insert a knife to check if its done or not. If batter sticks to the knife cook for another 1 min but if it comes out clear cake is ready. Every microwave is different in terms of maximum output power, so please check and time it accordingly. If in doubt start with 5 minutes and then increase by 1 minute.
  9. 10. Once done, take it out and leave for 5 mins n cut in pieces n serve.  Njoy cooking :-)
