X
Ingredients
- 3 ¼ c flour
- ½ c sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 eggs beaten
- 16 oz sour cream
- 2 tsp caraway seeds
- 1 cup raisins
Steps
- Mix dry ingredients, then fold in beaten eggs and sour cream. Stir in raisins and caraway seeds and mold into a round loaf.
- Grease a 9” round cake pan. Sprinkle loaf with flour and sugar…make a cross on top with a knife.
- Bake at 350°F for about an hour until the loaf is browned. Insert a knife in center to see if its done.
Notes
- Here's my version for Irish Soda Bread. It's lighter, less dense and easy to make. Lower in sugar and less fat if you use low fat sour cream instead of buttermilk.
