Ingredients
  • subheading: Chinese 5 Spice:
  • Star Anise                       1 Tbs    "roughly crushed"
  • Szechuan Pepper          1½ tsp
  • Cinnamon                       2 tsp     "ground"
  • Clove                               1 tsp      "whole"
  • Fennel Seed                   2 tsp      "seeds"
  • Coriander                       2 tsp      "seeds"
  •  
  • subheading: ADVIEH    (persian spice mix used in Charosset, Polo Keshmesh ba Reshte, Polo Zereshk, Polo Adas):
  • warm aromatic, fragrant, little sweet - use in rice dishes, stews, vegetables (i.e. sprinkle on rice pudding, rosted squash, omelette or frittata)
  • all ingredients are "ground"   mix them well and keep in airtight container (or buy at Persian Market)
