Ribs are awesome in the electric pressure cooker. Fall off the bone.

Ingredients
  • 10oz bottle of Kroger apple juice
  • 12oz can of Sprite
  • Slab of Kroger Ribs
  • ¼ cup Pampered Chef Smokey Barbeque Rub, divided
  • ½ cup Grandma's Molasses, divided
  • ¼ cup KC Masterpiece Original BBQ Sauce
Steps
  1. 1.  Rinse ribs, remove excess fat
  2. --Removing membrane (silver thing on the back) is always advised in recipes.  Sometimes I remember, sometimes I don't).
  3. 2.  Sprinkle half of PC BBQ rub on one side of ribs.  Flip ribs and sprinkle with remaining rub.
  4. --massage into ribs
  5. PLACE LINER IN THE INSTANT POT!
  6. 3.  Turn IP to Saute to heat up the pot.
  7. 4.  Add apple juice and Sprite to the pot.
  8. 5.  Pour ¼ cup molasses on one side of ribs, massage into ribs.  Flip and repeat with remaining molasses.
  9. 6. Put the trivet in the IP.
  10. 7. Hit the Cancel button on the IP.
  11. 8. Add the ribs to the pot.
  12. 9. Pour KC Masterpiece around the top of the ribs.  I used all I had left in the bottle.
  13. --Rinse the bottle with a little water and add the remains to the pot.
  14. 10.  Place the lid on the pot.
  15. 11. TURN THE VALUE TO SEALING.
  16. 12.  Press the Pressure Cook button and change time to 25 minutes. (Manual button)
  17. --you can also use the Meat/Stew preset button.
  18. 13.  It takes 5 to 10 minutes to come up to pressure before it starts the cooking countdown.
  19. 14.  Once the cooking is over, the unit will start to count UP.  Let it count to 15 to 20.
  20. 15.  Let the ribs Natural Release (NP) for 15 to 20 minutes.  All meat should be NP to seal in flavor. Quick Release (QR) is Not recommended for meat.
  21. 16. At 15 minutes, turn the oven on to Broil. --Prep a pan for the ribs.
  22. 17.  Place ribs under the broiler for 1 ½ minutes.  2 minutes may be too long.
Notes
  • Use a trivet.
