Ingredients
- 10oz bottle of Kroger apple juice
- 12oz can of Sprite
- Slab of Kroger Ribs
- ¼ cup Pampered Chef Smokey Barbeque Rub, divided
- ½ cup Grandma's Molasses, divided
- ¼ cup KC Masterpiece Original BBQ Sauce
Steps
- 1. Rinse ribs, remove excess fat
- --Removing membrane (silver thing on the back) is always advised in recipes. Sometimes I remember, sometimes I don't).
- 2. Sprinkle half of PC BBQ rub on one side of ribs. Flip ribs and sprinkle with remaining rub.
- --massage into ribs
- PLACE LINER IN THE INSTANT POT!
- 3. Turn IP to Saute to heat up the pot.
- 4. Add apple juice and Sprite to the pot.
- 5. Pour ¼ cup molasses on one side of ribs, massage into ribs. Flip and repeat with remaining molasses.
- 6. Put the trivet in the IP.
- 7. Hit the Cancel button on the IP.
- 8. Add the ribs to the pot.
- 9. Pour KC Masterpiece around the top of the ribs. I used all I had left in the bottle.
- --Rinse the bottle with a little water and add the remains to the pot.
- 10. Place the lid on the pot.
- 11. TURN THE VALUE TO SEALING.
- 12. Press the Pressure Cook button and change time to 25 minutes. (Manual button)
- --you can also use the Meat/Stew preset button.
- 13. It takes 5 to 10 minutes to come up to pressure before it starts the cooking countdown.
- 14. Once the cooking is over, the unit will start to count UP. Let it count to 15 to 20.
- 15. Let the ribs Natural Release (NP) for 15 to 20 minutes. All meat should be NP to seal in flavor. Quick Release (QR) is Not recommended for meat.
- 16. At 15 minutes, turn the oven on to Broil. --Prep a pan for the ribs.
- 17. Place ribs under the broiler for 1 ½ minutes. 2 minutes may be too long.
Notes
- Use a trivet.
