Ingredients
  • 1 lb. hamburger
  • 8 tbsps. shredded American or cheddar cheese
  • Hamburger buns
Steps
  1. Shape ground beef into 8 thin patties.
  2. Divide cheese among 4 of the patties.
  3. Top with remaining patties and press edges firmly to seal. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  4. Grill burgers, covered, over medium heat or broil 4 in from heat until thermometer reads 160 degrees; about 6 to 8 minutes on each side.
  5. Serve on hamburger buns.
