Ingredients
- ½ c soy sauce
- ¼ c water
- 1.5 TBSP rice vinegar
- ½ TBSP mirin
- 5 to 6 TBSP brown sugar
- ½ tsp minced ginger
- 1 TBSP minced garlic
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- Black pepper
Steps
- Mix altogether and use ¼ cup to marinate salmon fillets (up to 3 lbs) for appx 1 hour
- Pour remaining marinade into a small saucepan and simmer about 5 minutes, then add corn starch slurry (1 TBSP cornstarch, 1 TBSP water) and stir in. Turn off heat
- Add oil to pan, then sear salmon on both sides to desired doneness
- Garnish with scallions and toasted sesame seeds
