Teriyaki salmon
Ingredients
  • ½ c soy sauce
  • ¼ c water
  • 1.5 TBSP rice vinegar
  • ½ TBSP mirin
  • 5 to 6 TBSP brown sugar
  • ½ tsp minced ginger
  • 1 TBSP minced garlic
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • Black pepper
Steps
  1. Mix altogether and use ¼ cup to marinate salmon fillets (up to 3 lbs) for appx 1 hour
  2. Pour remaining marinade into a small saucepan and simmer about 5 minutes, then add corn starch slurry (1 TBSP cornstarch, 1 TBSP water) and stir in. Turn off heat
  3. Add oil to pan, then sear salmon on both sides to desired doneness
  4. Garnish with scallions and toasted sesame seeds
