Ingredients
  • 4 T. bacon grease (if you keep it in the fridge as I do, veg. oil will work also)
  • 1 ¼ C. onion, chopped
  • 1 C. celery, chopped
  • ½ C. carrot, diced
  • ½ C. white wine (optional)
  • 4 T. all purpose flour
  • 8, 6. oz. cans chopped clams with juice
  • 1 C. heavy cream
  • ¼ tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. old bay seasoning
  • 3 potatoes, peeled, cut into ½" cubes and boiled separately from soup to fork tender stage.
