  • Optional: pinch cinnamon
  • 1 ½ cups cider vinegar
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper (or more, to taste)
  • 10 to 12 hamburger buns (or soft buns for barbecue)
  • Optional topping: coleslaw (creamy or Carolina style)
