  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 cup diced onion

  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 1 cup water or beef broth
  • ½ cup long grain white rice or converted rice
  • 1 (16 oz) can refried beans
  • 1 (4 oz) can diced green chiles
  • ¾ cup pace picante sauce (I used mild)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups tortilla chips
  • ½ cup sliced or diced tomatoes
