  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

  • 4 to 6 garlic cloves
  • ½ cup dry red wine
  • 1 28-ounce can of crushed tomatoes
  • 2 15-ounce cans of diced tomatoes
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes add more if you want a spicier sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • a couple of sprigs of fresh basil chopped (optional)
