Ingredients
  • 1 ½ lbs. lean hamburger; don't brown, chop up
  • 1 qts. water
  • 1 lg. onions; chopped
  • ½ 29-oz can tomato sauce
  • ¼ tsp. allspice
  • ¼ tsp. crushed red pepper
  • ¼ tsp. garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp. ground cloves
  • 2 tbsp. chili powder or more
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp. vinegar
  • 1 tsp. worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ oz. unsweetened baking chocolate square; s
  • 2 drops tabasco sauce
  • ¾ tsp. salt
  • accompaniments---
  • ½ pound spaghetti; cooked
  • 1 16-oz cans red kidney beans; rinsed and drained
  • 1 cups sharp cheddar cheese; shredded
  • ½ medium vidalia onion; minced
Steps
  1. In an 8 quart kettle combine hamburger, water and onions; simmer for 30 minutes.
  2. Then add remaining ingredients (cwm - except for kidney beans). Simmer for 2 or 3 hours, uncovered.
  3. Serve with steamed buns, hot dogs, onions and cheese or serve over spaghetti noodles, onions and cheese (cwm - and kidney beans) on the side.
