Instant Pot Dosa
Ingredients
  • 3 cups rice - I use basmati
  • 1 cup white urad dal
  • Washed and soaked separately for 24 hrs.
Steps
  1. subheading: Starter:
  2. 1 cup cooked rice from the day before (no salt)
  3. Grind all together. Don't make it watery but watch your mixer as it may heat it up if too tight.
  4. Keep in a big vessel covered for another 24 hrs.
  5. Dosa batter is ready.
  6. Store in fridge.
  7. subheading: Dosa:
  8. Using a clean spoon, take out as much batter as you need in a separate bowl.
  9. Adjust consistency, add salt and black pepper and mix well in one direction (aerate it). Batter is ready to use.
  10. Spread on a hot Dosa pan as shown in the video.
  11. Keep the rest of the batter in the fridge immediately. If handled and stored correctly, batter will last for a good 6 to 7 days.
