  • ½ to 1 teaspoon espresso powder optional but recommended for a richer chocolate flavor

  • ½ cup butter at room temperature
  • 2 to 3 tbsp milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • ½ cup cocoa powder or more to taste
  • 2 to 3 cups powdered sugar
