Cheddar Bay Biscuits
Ingredients
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp. baking powder
  • ¼ tsp. kosher salt
  • 1 ½ sticks butter, cold and chopped
  • 1 ¾ c. whole milk
  • 2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 ½ cups shredded sharp Cheddar
  •
  • subheading: For the topping:
  • ½ cup. butter
  • 1 tbsp. Freshly Chopped Parsley
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. Old Bay Seasoning
  • pinch of salt
Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 400°. Combine flour, baking powder, salt and butter in a large mixing bowl and use a dough cutter/blender, spoon, or electric mixer until you’ve formed a dough with pea-sized lumps. I use a dough blender because I like doing it by hand. Slowly add in milk and keep mixing with a spoon until desired consistency.
  2. Stir in garlic powder and cheese. Use a spoon or scoop to place 2" drops of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake until golden, 16 to 18 min. My oven finishes them around 12 to 15 min because it runs 25 degrees hotter.
  3. subheading: For the topping:
  4. Melt the butter in your microwave at 10 second intervals to keep from exploding. Add in the spices once the butter is melted. Brush on the biscuits as soon as they are on the cooling rack. I highly suggest "testing" one while they're hot. So sexy.
